Strategy Engineers at the 9th BME-Value Day 2017
Munich, 30.06.2017 Strategy Engineers and Siemens to share best practices in strategic product cost management at the 9th BME-Value Day 2017: 11. – 12. July 2017 at the Audi Driving Experience Center in German Neuburg an der Donau.
What is the winning DNA of those companies successfully managing their product cost? And which key learnings from their success can we derive for general application? Based on Strategy Engineers’ study on strategic product cost management conducted in collaboration with TU Munich, empirical insight into answers to these challenging questions has been established. Martin Kieckebusch, partner at Strategy Engineers, is exited to host the best practice session: “Together with the excellent basis research at TU Munich, we have not only empirically validated commonly known best practices in product cost management but shed light on the mechanics of how success is strategically enabled through clever application of control levers.”
More than 600 decision takers in European automotive, mechanical engineering and other industries companies were surveyed to enable this relevant insight. The result is a second-to-none analysis of which control levers and strategies are applied by those companies hitting their target cost at start of production without adjusting the cost targets on the way there. “As a leading consultancy for technology driven companies, we have turned our research results into actionable strategies to implement new approaches on product cost management for producing companies”, says Martin Kieckebusch. In the best practice session, he will be joined by Mark Zundel from the SIEMENS mechanical drives unit in Voerde, Germany. Strategy Engineers has successfully supported SIEMENS mechanical drives in a strategic product cost management project.
The objective of the project was to review and improve the client’s product cost management processes as well as to initiate a focused cost-down initiative on three key product lines including concept reviews, expert workshops for cost-down idea generation and a tool to manage portfolio complexity on behalf of improving portfolio cost efficiency and reduce variants.
The best practice session will be held on July 12th, 2017 at the BME-Value Day. The event is hosted by the Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME), which was founded in 1954. BME is the leading professional association for supply chain managers, buyers and logisticians in Germany and Central Europe and is dedicated to leverage know-how transfer in the fields of supply chain management, procurement and logistics.
